Great example of Uniophora granifera a regular around Tasmanian waters. Closely related to an invasive species, the Northern Pacific Seastar introduced via ships ballast water mid last century. They have become quite a problem in Southern waters.

      Beautiful image Jules.

The soft background is a gorgeous backdrop that provides context and displays your photographic skills.

Strong lesson here for observing the background as it is in many cases just as important as the main focal element. Excellent DOF, lovely subject, perfect exposure, and wonderful light.

My personal preference would be for slightly less foreground but that is a purely subjective call and a minor consideration.

Very nice Jules. Can't provide the same level of CC as Mick but I enjoy looking at it. The water lines around it add to the image I think.
