  • New clothes

    While scanning the garden, from my camp stool, I thought I had spied two 'spider corpses' wafting in the breeze ...... in actual fact it was a Lynx spider shedding his exoskeleton.
    Here he/she is after completing the procedure ...

          It's amazing how they can slide out of the old "suit" and leave it almost intact! Well spotted Barb!

              Thanks guys

              I have never seen them in the shedding process before either .... pure fluke I spotted him as he is quite small (hanging from a blade of grass). I have seen plenty of 'corpses' in the garden, including two belonging to Huntsman spiders.

              We have another 20-40mm rain tonight/tomorrow so I hope he finds a sheltered spot for the duration.
