    Hadn't seen them about for a couple of weeks after the floods. But there were two among the broken Lillies yesterday.

        Thanks, yes I'm lucky to be in a position (voluntary) where I generally see several of them every week. We have at least 5 resident platypus in the Arboretum lake with easy access. The lake is adjacent to a creek and river so they are free to come and go as they please, but there are nearly always a couple about. Immediately after the flood they weren't seen and I suspect they had gone to ground in their burrows under the lake edges. I understand they build their nest in the tunnel with a trapped air pocket which probably allowed them to survive the higher water level.
