  • Gecko (I think)

Found this little critter at a desert campsite a while back.

Not sure of the species but was impressed at the willingness to pose while I stuffed around for ages trying out my new close up filters for the Sigma DP2.

I have three, 1x, 2x and 4x but can't remember now which one I used...*sigh*. From memory the 4x loses too much detail so it's probably one of the others.

Only $80 for the set, lot cheaper than a macro lens and lets me get in nice and close. It's not serious macro gear but good enough for me.

Cute as a button and about 3" long in the old money.

EDIT: maybe a Central Netted Dragon according to google

Blends into the background. I find those close up filters useful too. Have one to suit my 18-135 zoom lens It just gives you more options without lugging around the whole kit.

Terrific find Mick It is what you called it and it's a female. I like the filter too. DOF is great.

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Looks great Mick - the Filters do the job well.

            (Doesn't MarkB use something similar?)

Thanks Mick. Here's why this little lady grabbed my attention. I thought it might be a relly, being so small and in the same environment. Previous Post.

Cheers Alan, not sure if Mark uses them or not but I gather he likes to keep things simple and uncomplicated so maybe.

Thanks for that Isac. See plenty of dragon lizards up this way, many different species.

Very cute and she certainly looks interesting in what you are doing and has perfect colours for camouflage in her environment.
