  • Upclose Wallaby.

This young girl Rock Wallaby was eating some grass out behind my house, it was late afternoon and the sun had gone down behind the hill so the iso is up at my upper limit.
She wasn't worried about me getting too close, the exif shows the focusing distance at 6-7 meters, I thought I was closer than that.

Beautiful photos Ironwood. Nice to have them drop for a feed now and then. Good quality grass by the look of it too. Like Alan says, good detail and ISO doesn't seem to be a problem these days. At 600mm (assuming hand held) , 3200-ISO and 500th/sec, I'd be stoked with these results. Excellent job

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Thanks Caralan. Last one is my favourite as well.
I see these animals everyday as they live in the bush surrounding my house, I never tire of seeing them.
        Cheers, Brad.

          Thanks Isac.
The grass has greened up nicely, we have had some very much needed rain in the last couple of weeks, the Wallabies will be loving it.

Yes these shots were handheld, the Tamron 150-600 is hungry for light, but at least the stabilisation works well, which is a bonus because I don't like going above iso3200, I have seen some photos out of a D7100 that were iso6400 and looked good, but I notice the noise really starting to kick in with my shots even at 1600 at times, especially if they are underexposed.
          Cheers, Brad.

I didn't look at the exif data until Isac mentioned it - well done

Great detail and the lower light takes out any harshness that may occur in strong light.
