    The Palawan flowerpecker (Prionochilus plateni) is a species of bird in the Dicaeidae family. It is endemic to the Philippines.

    Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.

    The scientific name commemorates the German zoologist Carl Constantin Platen.

    Again, lovely shot of the bird. I'm facinated also by the fruit on that tree. Is it a type of nut?.. Obviously tropical we don't see anything like that in Tassie.

        Thanks Gaz. Greg Kevin is correct, it is the cashew tree. In Filipino/Tagalog it is called "Kasuy"
