I believe this is a 'Dainty Swallowtail'?
My ID skills are very poor (A bugs a bug!) The name is from the first AU site I could find.

Thanks for the confirmation Alan, got called away briefly and forgot to add a small 'Back Story'...I had the 100 - 400mm on hoping to get a few interesting shots of a friendly 'Wagtail' who helps clean-up the insects in the vegi garden for me when I spotted this bloke going back to the same spot over and over. I grabbed a small extension tube and sat back about 2½ - 3 mtrs then waited, in hindsight I wish I'd backed the ISO off but these things happen.

      Cheers.

Great detail in the body and eyes Gaz, with nice composition and bokeh. I'd be happy with that.

I don't mind that bit of grain Gaz. It fits with the soft nature of the subject and the body and eyes are pretty sharp anyway.

Thanks for the comments people, I thought the soft focus on the wings with the shallow DOF may have put some off but not so.

              Cheers.
