Dragonflies on the Dam (7pics)

Spent a bit of time at the dam yesterday afternoon. Hoping to catch some in flight, but they never hovered in one spot long enough.

Red and blue seem to be the 'in' colours this season. (All taken with the D7000 and the 300mm with 1.7TC and tripod)

What an assortment!
Dragonfly sex does not look pleasant. (Guess they'd say the same back).
You did well getting them separate from what I imagine would have been a cluttered wild background.
