  • Poinsiana & froggy (image heavy)

I finally got out and about with my dslr just down the road from Eve's school .. ie block of land next to it. Poinsianna's and Golden Shower tree ... which when I google is the National Tree of Thailand. Assuming it's the same one.
Cairns has both trees blossoming wherever you go .. and another type of pretty red tree but tall and thing.. not sure of the name of it.

Last weekend we got our first thunder and lightning display of our slowly developing wet season as well as a load of rain 50ml + and this little froggy was climbing around our patio. I was sooooo excited, jumped up and down and ran to get my camera. Reason: this is the first ever frog in our backyard (as the rest of the family and inlaws roll their eyes lol).

This was across the road from Eve's school at Caravonica

Quite an incredible tree. Not seen anything like that here.

The poinciana trees are stunning at present and you can't blame the worker - they do provide excellent shade. #1 is my favourite of your tree shots, only a young one but a good uncluttered shot with good background. I too get excited if I see a frog in the yard. Unfortunately a rare occurrence here as well - get lots of those ugly cane toads at night though. Like the way he is looking up at you in #1 but #2 is my fav, nice detailed close up Anna.

That 1st shot has a very oriental feel to it - beautiful.
