Sitting on one foot , fluffed up cold

Spotted this little Splendid fairy wren and snuck up inch by nch to snap this shot. I had to go manual focus due to the branches infront of him.

He is very vividly coloured ..... the Wrens here seem to have a habit of 'posing' when I don't have the camera nearby or, more often than not, when I have the close up lens fitted

I was wondering how you managed to get the focus so good through the branches.
Then I read the blurb. Great job for MF with all the collateral around him/her.
