    Not the best light and shooting down from a high bank but at least he stayed reasonably still.

    Nice detail in the feathers,looks like he`s got his eye on you.

      He's watching alright.

      Might be able to pull the highlights back a bit to remove the glare off the feathers, but nice shot.

        this is a little pied cormorant. you can tell the diff by the lack of the yellow in front of the eyes and by head shape. the chest feathers almost always seem impossible to recover detail if you blow it too. same with the pied ones too. if the sun is shining on them, it just about always means you need 2/3 ev less than you think to hold the whites

          Thanks for the comments guys and the always helpful tips Stephen. I think he was keeping an eye on my dogs as this was taken from one side of the local dog park so they were off leash. Lucky for him the bank was too steep there as one of my dogs is a born herder.
