Thanks all. I think these are great little creatures and I love to hear them chirping when the weather is turning to damp. (They are rarely wrong in predicting rain)
Not to be confused with the hopping crickets which are more commonly seen, these little 'moles' spend much of their time underground.

Was chuffed to find this fellow crawling over the shed floor and went to quite a bit of trouble settling him down in a white bowl in order to get some sharp shots of it. Was a bit concerned that no-one appeared to like it for a while!

Nature facinates me whether the creatures are 'ugly' or pretty.
