First time I've ever seen one of these apart from photographs. I always thought they would be much bigger. This one was quite small and I couldn't see any others in the pond. Just the usual ducks and moorhens.

Good shots of it. Almost looks like fishing line at the mouth of the first one.. hope not!

Bit ironic.. I took some Grebe photos for the first time at the Arboretum the other day. Not good enough to post but I seem to be in sync. with you Northerners on some shots!

They are a beautiful bird and very small - but very quick as well. Nice captures with plenty of detail.
