  • Jacky Winter - Microeca fascinans

    Potato Point, NSW, Feb 25.

Would prefer a slight head turn to camera and a more natural perch - but there weren't any. Taken out of a car window and I was too close (not something I type very often ), hence the tight crop.

Ahh, the old "I was too close" excuse, haven't heard that one in a while.

Lovely clean image with a bonus seed in the beak.

I agree with you Mick. He takes a great photo, and then come the excuses. "I was too close/far, had the wrong lens on the iPhone, was in the car doing 120kph when I took it."

We've heard 'em all before, haven't we?

Still a nice shot Alan. The excuses just aren't necessary.

Thanks guys It's amazing what an iPhone can do these days

Just alluding to the things 'serious' bird togs would comment on a dedicated Bird Forum - not that I necessarily agree with them.....

I'm just happy to get it in focus

Glad I'm not a 'serious' birder - I'd be over the moon to get that photo. Beautiful detail and makes him look like he's on tippy toes with the back claws in the air.

Great shot considering small birds are difficult to capture.
