Normally oof birds intersecting with the edge of the frame isn't a good look but I quite like the way this one turned out. May not appeal to all.

Nice to see so many around Mick. Nice bokeh for f/8.

Thanks Lloyd. I do think the 1/400 lens aperture needs to be stepped down a couple of stops if the light is strong enough to handle it.

Needs perfect light to be used wide open imho, can be hit and miss otherwise.

I like the 1 sharp and the rest moving and oof and the way you've captured the water falling from the flying feet. Assume this is near where you took your road train shot

Cheers Gabby. Yep same puddle as the road train shot. The water is a murky unattractive colour so I went for a group shot rather than trying to isolate individual birds.

Plenty of water up that way right now Mick. Great shots of what stilts do. Good DOF. (I would have removed the 1/2 birds though - IMO)

Thanks Isac, I hear what you're saying about the 1/2 birds, I'm just trying to create a few images that break a few rules here and there. Appreciate the feedback.

Love them both Mick ..... #1 has all the various wing movements and #2 looks like they are dancing (??????) or not

They can be quite an elegant bird, gracious in their movements.
