Beautiful light and colour. He seems fixated on something other than you. I want to get a pic like this.

I do like a 'Bird on a Wire'

Barbed wire is almost better than a natural perch to my eye, love it.

The RBE's must have incredible eyesight as they manage to pluck individual mozzies out of the air while travelling at considerable speed, they always have a look of intensity about them.

They were the inspiration for me to buy some camera gear and get into photography so I owe them an enormous debt. Sitting on the riverbank fishing with these tiny balls of bright colour flashing past me to grab a bug over the water led to a trip to the library to discover what on earth they were.

Pulled a big coffee table book off the shelf and there was one on the cover in all it's glorious colour. I was hooked.

So they also owe me a LOT of money.

But I can live with that.

What a good photo. Don't worry, in the cuteness stakes he beats the croc 10 times over

Stunning photo of this beautiful little bird - the light on his face is just perfect and the beautifully blurred background really makes him pop. Interesting to hear how you got into photography and yep you do owe him a debt. How long before you got a good shot of one of them?
