  • Red-capped Plovers in flight

Another image from my time amongst the mangroves. I'm drawn like a magnet to the inter tidal zones. Click image for larger version

Show off. I'm still trying to get a good bif shot and you shoot a whole flock. Good shot - like the mangroves in the background and hope the sandflies didn't carry you away.

That's a fabulous shot Mick. Focus is great as well.

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Beautifully done - no half birds and the tree is nicely placed

Cheers Gabby. The sandflies are horrendous. I squat down and wait for the birds to settle and the incoming tide to push them towards me. Long steaming hot shower when I get home makes a difference.

As these plovers bank they aline themselves vertically placing them all (or mostly) in the plane of focus. I've no idea why they do that but am pleased they do. Doesn't happen all the time but always a chance to get them all in focus with a small flock.

Cheers Alan. Placement of the tree was pure chance of course but yeah, I like where it is.
