  • Even more Bar-tailed Godwits

Standing room only on this beach. The high tide pushes the birds off the mudflats and they congregate on the shore to wait out the tide.

Crickey, some of us are happy with one or two birds in view.

Nice work though. What would a wider angle of view look like, I'm wondering. The challenge in shots like this is to get the composition right, convincing.

I like the way the beaks are tracing a line across the image. And someone is always going to get cut off in a shot like this. I'm thinking maybe I'd like to see more of the birds at the bottom.

My indecision is final, I think.

Large flocks lining the shores of Roebuck Bay at this time of year Charles, good times.

The crop is pretty much set in concrete because of the large number of oof birds and the extraordinary number of colourful leg bands I'm afraid. It gets ugly out wide but I can understand your thinking.

My intent was to isolate a group within the flock hopefully completely filling the frame. That didn't happen and this is probably the best of all the frames I captured.

Thanks for the feedback good sir.

Great shot Mick - only one rebel pointing in the other direction.
