I'm having trouble with the mechanics of posting photos here. Hopefully this is right now.

Thanks Alan, the thumbnails remain from a previous posting attempt. I can't find how to delete them, so they remain.
Your like of #1 is very much appreciated. Yes #2 has been blurred deliberately, in the pursuit of the abstract image. Maybe it doesn't work, I'll see if anyone else has an opinion.

Hi Pete .... I like #1 even tho it is a little 'too bright on white' ...... #2 (for me) doesn't work so well ..... maybe pull the vibrance back a bit so not quite so 'glary' ...Barb

Thanks for your comments Barb, very interesting.
Doing #1 on white was a different course for me as I usually like the darker backgrounds. Using a white background I found that I could then use the stronger colours. I enjoyed the strong silhouette factor and coloured the shadow hue for interest.
Regarding the use of colour saturation on both photos, I'm a strong colour type person, finding it a valuable tool to use in making the artistic statement. I have explored monochrome to a limited extent and am uncomfortable with it. Also I have explored the limited use of colours in making form and pattern type shots to try and broaden my (limited) experience.
For me this is all part of the vast range of possibilities in establishing a personal style, that is so exciting.
Cheers, Pete

Number one has lovely backlighting that gives wonderul petal definition and a very pretty shadow.
Great use of diagonals and the clarity is wonderful in one also.
Both have vibrant colours.

Thanks Glyn and Jo. This fuschia is a strongly coloured one so it was nice to go with the vivid colours to make a strong statement with colour and composition.
