  • Another chance at life

I don't get a lot of time to photograph, and here is a fraction of the reason why. By the time I feed and care for over 60 four legged babies, my day (and night) has gone. The one in the rug was very ill and going to be put down, but she came here as a last hope of life. The other baby was found wandering around in a flock of sheep, starving and motherless and the farmer drove here over 100 km rather than have to destroy her. Click image for larger version

Must be very satisfying when you nurture these back to health. I don't normally think of lambs needing rescuing but obviously some do. Are all your 4 legged babies lambs or do you have a variety of animals you care for?

Not all lambs. Any four legged farm animal. Lambs, goats, calves, deer, plus have hand raised alpacas and foals and probably a few I've forgotten. The most babies I've raised at any one time has been around 120. No wonder all the hairs on my head are gray

Very endearing captures and lovely story.
Always like seeing mammary glands being used for what nature meant them for.

Haven't been there, not done that.

But it keeps you active and engaged which is always a good thing. It would be the broken sleep for night feeds if needed when caring for baby animals that would destroy me.
