  • Apostle Bird

truthidea cinerea. Weddin Mts National Park near Grenfell, today.

The only bird I had the remotest chance of getting a photo of after 2.5 hrs walking up and back the gorge was this common bird in the car park ... so it goes

Nice work Alan. You have captured that cheeky look very effectively.

Are you sure there was nothing in a 2 half hour walk in the wild? You'll have to try harder next time.

My indecision is final, I think.

Interesting bird. Almost looks like one of those ceramic reproductions with the sharpness of those feathers. (But I know it's not)

          Thanks for having a look.

Charles, there was no shortage of birds - but, they were either too high, too backlit, too far away, too quick, too well hidden, too fast.

One of those days I seem to have too often

So how many were there??? At the zoo they use to annoy us at lunch time...they always seem to appear 12 at a time...hence the name I guess?

Yes Gaz - I counted 12 for sure

Or maybe it was the same two 6 times or, 4x3 or....

Anyway, there were a few of them being bother boys/girls

              Cheers

Very serious looking bird - big frown.

I agree with Barkly ... that's one big attitude ..... I love #1, and if I saw that coming at me at ground level I would be afraid, very afraid ....
