Hare Pair

This is a pair of Sea Hares caught in the 'act'.



Taken on the Artificial Reef Balls near Devonport.

20 Metres deep. Housed Lumix FT2 in macro zoom mode Inon STTL 2000 external flash unit.

as if Devonport didn't have enough bunnies on land...now they've turned to the sea.

The tangle of 'strings' in the immediate foreground are the eggs laid down by the copulating Hares. When mating occurs, (each Hare has both male and female organs), the reef can be covered with egg strings!

Those sea hares are weird looking and had a giggle that they were taken on the 'Artificial Reef Balls' lol.

Even more strange are the eggs.
