Mare and foal

Just another pony shot. The little grey mare at the trough is sadly no longer with us but the foal went on to do great things in the show ring, and is still at home making beautiful babies.

He really wanted a Shire Horse, but we thought that would make too much of a mess of the paddock .

Good choice not to go for the Shire, I assume you're referring to their monstrous feet.

Absolutely. We had a friend who was a farrier ans specialised in shoeing Shires. Young son said that was what he wanted to do when he grew up.
He did become a farrier but doesn't do a lot with shires. to much like hard work.

Lovely shot with the mare at the trough and the foals attention on the photographer. The animals behind the fence does make it look a bit busy but that's a very minor issue.

Thank You Alan. The mares and foals tended to congregate around the trough but it was the look on the foals face that caught the eye.
