We have had some rain over the last few days and the water level has risen a little but the main lake is still full of dead stalks. There are a few ducks in the small clear patches and the occasional moorhen.

    1. All of the brown area and some of the green used to be clear water. This is from the boardwalk, but not a good quality photo due to deep shade in the foreground

    2. I haven't seen a decent amount of clear water here since February last year. This is a photo from January last year when it was rapidly drying

It will soon be teeming. Looks good now but will look better with birds.

Thanks Hans, but it will take some time yet.

Looks like a really nice area when the water level is up.
    Fujifilm X-T5, XF16-80 f/4, XF70-300 f/4-5.6, XF23 f/2, XF35 f/2, XF150-600 f/5.6-8, and a random assortment of 35mm film cameras.

Yes, it can be beautiful when there is plenty of clear water.

Maybe with some live storks next time...

Ha ha. I have seen storks there in the past - so maybe, if you could see them through the stalks.
