Vast areas of water dry up and you will find animals out in the open so that preditors can't sneek up. They like runways at airports as well.

Water isn't the only thing that dries up there by the look of it Hans. I can't unsee that fashion parade in progress, so thanks for posting that. Those Barn Owls look great - lucky to be in a sanctuary.
