I find that some sooc shots look below par at first glance but playing around with software the image can sometimes be brought back to life. It's usually what we remember the scene as when we took the photo. The pleasing thing is, the data in the image still has to be there before software and your editing skills can manipulate that data and turn it into a work of art. I assume the original was a bit dark? Well done on the recovery. Beautiful and colourful scene.

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Thanks Isac. The foreground was a bit dark and the sky was flat, so a bit of selective brightening and contrast.

Beautiful shot. Really like the colors and textures in the sky.

EXIF data is telling me the image was taken at 6:41 on the 9th June so no wonder it was a flat. I think that we all strive to "get it right" in camera, but no matter how good sensors get they'll never be as accurate as the human eye. For me the function of PP'ing is to reflect what I saw and felt at the time of taking the Photo.
Well done on the edit Alan.

Thanks John. To be honest the photo looks a bit more dramatic than it looked at the time but I'll call it artistic licence.
Working...
