  • The Barcoo River is little more than a muddy creek

    G'day all

The Barcoo River starts in the hills of the Warrego Ranges in central Qld and winds its way through farming country, merging with other rivers to eventually reach Lake Eyre. However that all requires rain, and "there ain't been much rain lately"

    As always, feedback welcome

Lovely rural scene. A bit of a strech to call it a river.

That's a beautiful photo Phil. It does show the affect of what a lack of rain does to the country. I suppose having some water there is better than nine. Here's hoping for some rain real soon.

We've just had a monster rain storm go through and it dumped a lot of rain in the city and surrounds. 42mm where I live, 15 km from Perth city. Almost our September average and more than we need at the moment - although the ducks are loving it. I guess it's a part of life on this planet.

Yep - that's what makes it such a nice place to live ... sunny one day + rainy the next

A typical Australian creek at this point. At least there is some water there.

Nice shot. Looks like some of the creeks and rivers we had back in Oklahoma that would nearly dry up after a period with no rain.
