Looks very tranquil and the only noise would be from the Birds.

The noisiest thing all night was the leaves falling on the tent from the Poplar trees. :-)

      Ah Richard....

How can you really say that "this place is one of the world's wonders for beauty"? .............
where's the fast food joint? where's the kids playgrounds with all the noise? where's the coffee shop with its chuck-away paper cups?

Ah mate -- can you tell us (on the quiet) where it is so that we can come and join you and get some delightful peace & quiet via back to nature !!
      Phil

No secret. The paddock beside the Kevington Hotel which is 11 km south of Jamieson on the Goulburn River (about 5 metres behind the tent and down the bank). The Hotel has been closed for 3 years but is now open weekends and you can camp in the paddock ($20/head per night) or stay in one of the renovated rooms (all share facilities). Great food, nice beer and wine selection and wonderful hospitality. The sealed road ends just beyond Kevington then it is dirt most of the way to Licola, Cambarville or Walhalla via Woods Point.
It has always been one of my favourite overnighters and now it's even better.

Ah mate -- I am envious
We don't get down to Vic all that often but I will keep this one in mind for 'sometime'
The area in your pic looks very serene and seems like a place where I would enjoy a week or so "just sitting"

The pub is only open Thursday through Sunday. Good fishing in the river though.
