My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

    Nice scene.
Definitely has the typical Nik HDR look with bad CA around the top of the trees and the sky junction, That is why I stopped using it.

Nicely captured. with the creek drawing your eye into the depths of the image. Lovely reflection. The HDR gives it almost a 3D effect. I Don't use Photoshop or Nik so have no experience in HDR issues but my old next door neighbour had a saying "A blind man would be pleased to see it" (meaning I didn't notice it)

Nice shot with good detail in the shadows.

Nice work. Wouldn't have known it was an HDR unless you told me, just as it should be.
          Fujifilm X-T5, XF16-80 f/4, XF70-300 f/4-5.6, XF23 f/2, XF35 f/2, XF150-600 f/5.6-8, and a random assortment of 35mm film cameras.

Thanks David. It's a small runoff from the larger lake and the coots often nest in there. I agree some HDR is a bit over done - not to my liking.

Cheers A&B, I do like HDR as long as it's not OTT. Plenty of free HDR software out there - I have used Picturenaut before - does a good job. http://www.hdrlabs.com/picturenaut/

Thanks Keith, the bit I like - it's the shadows detail that HDR brings out. More like we see with our own eyes, much more dynamic range than cameras.

Lovely photo Isac. I rarely use HDR, it seems to turn the photo very bland. However, this photo works very well ....

I think HDR works best when it's subtle and not overcooked.

Very nice Isac, with the trees framing the pool and the reflections in the water. I think I would probably prefer this just a tad darker, but that's just me, and I wonder how a well exposed single image would look.

I've never been happy with my own attempts at HDR but I did like some of the overdone HDR images of buildings and interiors until everyone starting doing it and it rapidly became a cliche. Images of nature, though, are best when they look natural.

Thanks Alan. Here's the Out-Of-Camera zero exposure.

This is the HDR with a vignette. I prefer this one

I prefer the HDR with the vignette out of all of these, although the vignette might be just a tad too strong for my taste. Some people are never happy.

Cheers Alan. One could play forever with this kind of stuff but it's all good fun and a learning curve.
