  • Some UK pics, Just for Ozzie Traveller

Here are a few landscape pics just as requested. It really is a subject that I struggle with.

With the exception of the two seaside shots of dovercourt lighthouse, all are taken within 10 minutes from my front door. That includes the full moon shot which was taken from my front door.Click image for larger version Name:	D7151C46-6694-4A6F-A9D1-C506D5662349.jpg Views:	0 Size:	165.9 KB ID:	496064 Click image for larger version Name:	5ED10F43-634C-4016-B5EA-46335B5D97D5.jpg Views:	0 Size:	226.3 KB ID:	496065 Click image for larger version Name:	5H0A6569-Edit.jpg Views:	0 Size:	221.8 KB ID:	496066 Click image for larger version Name:	41C9022E-E550-4832-9AA6-48CE6BDEC541.jpg Views:	0 Size:	238.9 KB ID:	496067 Click image for larger version Name:	50E87E8F-9FF6-4F17-9AD6-7CBF227D7DFE.jpg Views:	0 Size:	237.1 KB ID:	496068 Click image for larger version Name:	9A4FECB1-AECB-4251-8824-1D31AB0C9F50.jpg Views:	0 Size:	235.9 KB ID:	496069 Click image for larger version Name:	F47F2E2F-BC4E-40ED-958F-E8A2F9F5DE1B.jpg Views:	0 Size:	174.0 KB ID:	496070 Click image for larger version Name:	2746C8D7-0DB1-4AF3-B0B3-5BBC6619B11C.jpg Views:	0 Size:	238.7 KB ID:	496071 Click image for larger version Name:	636264CB-6A66-4D3F-85E2-3C007A65F05D.jpg Views:	0 Size:	234.3 KB ID:	496072 Click image for larger version Name:	19026D10-40EA-4986-9A3A-957105326615.jpg Views:	0 Size:	221.2 KB ID:	496073 Click image for larger version Name:	117BB166-EF37-4362-AB23-007CE91FCA70.jpg Views:	0 Size:	88.9 KB ID:	496074 Click image for larger version Name:	2502C8F1-9F4D-4101-99BA-BD04182703DF.jpg Views:	0 Size:	183.3 KB ID:	496075

Excellent images Phill, with a variety of subjects, lighting and composition. If you struggle to get these then it is certainly worth the struggle.

I'm loving all of these images Phill104. As Alan said, if you're struggling to get images of this high standard now I'd love to see what you come up with when you're comfortable with this genre of photography.

Thanks all. I find with landscape it takes so much more time and dedication, even more so than wildlife. I am always amazed by how much effort some landscape togs put in.

At least a lighthouse stays put and gives you a chance to compose your shot, unlike small birds and insects.

True, but it is a 5hr round trip. I missed the tides on one trip and the weather didn’t play ball on another despite the forecast. I do plan to return though as I know I can do better. That is only if SWMBO hasn’t got me doing diy or other chores that I have been putting off for months.

Beautiful shots. Really like that black and white shot of the tree in the snow.

All of these look great to me Phill. Keep 'em coming. Wonderful ethereal feel to #2. I love the tree BW.
In think #1 would look better applying the Rule-of-Thirds, what's your thoughts? But I'm not a landscape photographer. A little shadows and colour boost as well. It has a brilliant minimalist look, which I love.

Thanks Isac. Always good to hear your thoughts especially on composition and editing. It’s something I don’t have the imagination for.

            G'day all + Phill104

Oh Phill me ol' mate .... I am honoured that you have offered me / us such a beaut collection of landscape images
Seriously - they are damn fine images and I am unsure as to your lack of confidence in your abilities

Most of them could easily grace the lounge-room wall as a poster-sized print ~ so how about it ?

              Thanks Phil.

For me it is a lot of hard work. I have friends who I can be out walking with and they see shots all around but I see nothing. Plus my mattress is sticky until way after the best of the light has passed.

If you struggle with landscape I'd love to see it when you were on song! Great shooting there!

Thanks all. Part of my problem is whatever I am shooting, my mind drifts to looking for wildlife.

I struggle visualising a shot. Seeing them while
out and about is a skill I lack. Today I was out with a friend who is an avid landscape tog. Especially in woodland, he spots amazing things that I would just walk past.

I know exactly what you mean Phill, I am always amazed with some of the images of local architecture that people come up with. I always try an look for the details that people seem to miss. I think that I did okay with these images.

Thanks Phill. I used to hate going in to the CBD as I have developed a dislike for crowds so I choose what I think will be a reasonably quiet time for my trips to the big smoke.
