Oxenford Weir (for Phil)

This morning I tried a new birding site that I've seen good reports of, but it didn't work out for me. There were a couple of ducks, a magpie lark and some cormorants in the water but the sun was behind them all. This used to be the road across the Coomera River.

Hi Phil, very few there and the light was from wrong direction. Last night someone posted on Facebook a series of images of an Osprey catching a fish, taken later in the day. I might have been too impatient but the water-skiers turning up wasn't encouraging.

Yes, there is a park with a playground and picnic tables too.

Nice landscape there Alan, Looks better than "ordinary" to me mate! Appears to be plenty of room to drop a blanket down and enjoy a picnic basket with a good Pinot.

Thanks Isac. It's a nice spot, a bit stark near the weir, but the adjacent park has nice green grass.
