Lovely. - How about some photos of the vines?

I studied Latin at school and, as a result, knew that Bacchus was the Roman god of wine and partying. When I first moved to Australia in 1994, I was based in Melbourne. I was most impressed to discover that one of Victoria's regional towns was called Bacchus Marsh, which I presumed had been named after the Roman god Bacchus. I was sorely disappointed to discover that Bacchus Marsh was named after an early settler called William Bacchus. I'll bet that he had some fun growing up.

Cheers mate. We have a famous cricketer in Rod Marsh who was nicknamed "Bacchus Marsh". He sadly passed away on 4th March this year. I'll post the vines in this thread.

I have seen statues in a poor state of repair and well adorned in bird droppings, but this one seems well intact.

It is a fabulous winery David and rather unique because of its location, 50km south east of Perth. Our better known wineries are in the Swan Valley just north of Perth and we have our world famous Margaret River wine region which is 280km from Perth on our south west coast.

I remember being in the UK in the sixties and the only Aussie wine we were finding was Swan. We had never heard of it before,

Out with the double barrel. Or are the crows protected in WA? Lovely spot and a good crop.

My firearms were destroyed in the "Buy Back" many years ago, so I only shoot with my Canon. Crows and ravens are native animals and are protected under the Nature Conservation Act 1992. It is illegal to trap or bait them or disturb their nests when they are raising young, so yeah you can't give them both barrels. Plenty of vines here in WA and always have bumper crops.
