Another Rock Farmer

G'day all

In the limestone country of South Australia, for hundreds of kilometres one sees large volumes of these small white stones across the landscape. Some are solid enough for a dry-wall to be built, but most are too soft and easily crumble. However they are a nightmare for every farmer when s/he brings out the plowing equipment.

Very interesting colours and shapes in this one Phil.

I like the photo Phil, shows a different side of the the things our farmers have to put up with. If I knew about this problem when I was a young bloke I might have invented a rock removal system and made a fortune. The image itself has a lot of interest and lovely colours.

I was asking a lot of questions when I saw this with no knowledge to answer any so there is a story here. As for the rock rake they are used and you see a padock every now and then with piles of rocks in them.

Hans- yep there are plenty of rock piles along the way, but it appears that this stuff crumbles as it is caught up in the rake - so it soon becomes both smaller rocks and more of 'em to worry about

Isac- yeah - I walked to and fro along the road trying to find a possie where the grooves / curves from the plough along with colours would show up nicely - but nothing was significant, so I just shot it from this spot
