Wow, super dark blue in #1 (and a strange artefact to the left of the lighthouse?). I'm intrigued to know why you would use such a fast shutter as 1/2000th? What mode is set for the shot - AP? Manual?

I prefer the first because of the stronger composition and bold colours - ignoring the odd artifact. The sky is a bit dark but I like the contrast with the lighthouse. I would guess the shutter speed is to avoid blowing out the white lighthouse. Choice of aperture is wider than I would use, but small sensors give plenty of depth of field and are possibly prone to diffraction at smaller apertures.

There is also a dark spot on the sea at lower left.

I have got 3 brothers that live in Whyalla and I was glad that day we left from there. And the last time there I took my granddaughters and my brother took us out there and I got shot of the same thing and looks like not much has changed. But it is a nice structure which you have got yourself.
