  • Around Sherbrooke

Grumpy John Recently posted images from the Alfred Nicholas Gardens and that reminded me I had not been there so far this year. To be honest it's a place I usually avoid during the weekend. When cars are parked along the road overflowing the carpark for a km in each direction you know it is going to be a circus in there. Yesterday however was wet and cold so when my wife wanted to go for a walk in the late afternoon I suggested that she could do a couple of laps and I would stay near the entrance with a tripod

The main access path to the lake

The drive in from the gates

Sherbrooke Road looking west. On the right are the Beeches that give the property its name and are the ongoing source of conflict between locals and traffic engineers.

All images are focus stacked from 3-5 shots.

Excellent images K1W1. Being able to go to places like this midweek are just one of the many perks of retirement. There were only 4 cars in the car park on Friday when we were there.

Living 4km away by road is also a good perk.I can pick my visit times to suit the weather.
