  • Clouds at Last

It's been hot and dry for a long time so this one off was quite a welcome site.

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

    G'day mate

A most impressive set of clouds - looks like they're going to drop quite a bit onto 'someone / somewhere'

They did drop a bit of rain Phil but not enought to wet anything - maybe next time.

As Phil said, a great set of clouds. Great image to save as a sky replacement when needed.

A tapestry! Seen em on both sides. The image has a strange comic book look about it.Colour space?

I can't see the comic book effect but your eyes are probably better than mine. Colour Space is sRGB - as you know, the web only dsplays sRGB. I only use Pro Photo RGB 16 bit for printing OR CMYK. I'm currently designing a calendar for print and it's in CMYK.

On closer inspection the verticals seem a bit "off", was this taken with an Ultra Wide Angle lens?

I was aware of the distortion as soon as I opened the image. I had a go at correcting it but it was only the clouds I was interested in so I left it. It was from the Tammy 18-400 at 18mm. I should have shot 2 or 3 verticals and that would have been much better. I wanted to keep the wide scale in the shot. I go past that spot every day so I'll do some more shots and see how it goes. With the crop shown, this shows how much of the image I would have lost, which to me foregoes the width.
