Mornington Peninsula

I spent a few hours on the Mornington Peninsula last Saturday having a practice at long exposure photography using some Haida ND filters that were loaned to me. The weather was not the best as there were absolutely no clouds which made for a very boring sky. Also there were far too many boats out on the water that interfered with the long exposure effect.

Brilliant images John. The R6 is working well with IQ. I thought your slow shutter shots would have been done in Manual mode. Is that a setting in the R6 that you can set the shutter speed in AP mode?

Sorry, should have stated that I was using a 15 stop ND filter at the time, that's the reason for the 6 second shutter time.

Yes! Number three looks the goods. I find it a chore to carry all the gear. I have a set of fiters I have not used in a cupboard somewhere. Since i fly to where I'm taking pictures often it gets a bit of a problem weight wise,. When I was in Madagascar a group of Americans led by a man who had a suit case the size that I checked in, as a carryon camera bag. He did have to do a bit of fast talking. I was amazed that it fitted in the overhead locker.

The first two look good John, although there seems to be more wave detail at the waters edge than I would expect. In #3 the light, colour, composition, and moving water all contribute to an excellent image.
