Yep- heaps of blackened trees / earth / etc, and now is a good time to follow it up with the camera - coz within days the small green and red shoots start to appear, giving you some really beaut opportunities to get wonderful, backlit bits of foliage
ps- with the blackened tree trunks, I find that underexposure of 1-stop brings out the blackness much better ... as the meter tries to mix dark bits and light bits into a mid grey tone

I was at an exhibition today that had lots ofimages from the fires. Some that got more attention then others were closer images that included the colours of the rocks and some with reflected sky in small bits of water which added colour contrasts in the composition.
Better a full bottle in front of me
than a full frontal lobotomy.

Sper images of some pretty scary stuff Wayne. I reckon you've captured the mood pretty well. Like Hans says, it woul;d be great to get the comparison perspective when the regrowth appears. TFS!
Trees can be difficult subjects but you have done well here Wayne. #2 and #4 are my favourites. It should be interesting to see the contrast as the green shoots start to show.
