  • Panorama of Trees.

8 shot vertical panorama of the trees next to the lake. These trees were imported from Victoria and considered a pest in WA. They strangle the native gums because of their huge numbers. They have been tagged for removal but like all things government, the wheels turn very slowly.

They look like young Mountain Ash. I don't know which idiot thought they would be good in WA but he obviously did not take into account what happens when fully grown Mountain Ash (up to 30 metres tall) are exposed to strong winds and are in sandy soils. A few more years and a strong wind or two and you will have a horizontal forest.

They really are a scurge in our area and the City will remove them. When they were tagged for removel, all the local "knowalls" got all upset and thretened a protest if it went ahead, I suppose that's part of the reason they're still there.
