  • Wellington Dam

These were taken during my visit to Collie (WA) in July.
This is the largest dam mural in the world by artist Guido Van Helten. The area is around 8000 square metres!
Here's the story behind the making of the mural HERE.

The dam overflowed earlier in September, hiding the wonderful mural. Last time was in 2009.

Cheers John. It was nice to get out and about and seeing this on site is rather spectacular. I hope you're coping with the current situation mate.

Barely coping mate, but now the weather is turning a bit warmer I'm getting out and working in the garden, it helps.
Hoping that we can do a lap next year, making some big plans.

Hang in there mate. I was told by my GP to hold off with vax until Pfizer was available and got the first jab on Thursday, 2nd one in 3 weeks. As soon as they open the borders I think we will have more spread and deaths. Scomo seems hell bent on spreading the virus but it's only a financial decision not a peoples health one. Anyway, I hope your plans work out for you. Cheers.

Thanks Hans and Phil. It took a long time to make it happen, a massive amount of work from a passionate and dedicated bunch of folk. The artist Guido Van Helten is a legend in his own lifetime.

Yeah, it's pretty huge Alan and the artist only had small photos to go by. Brilliant job.
