  • Where there is smoke.

Not a lot of places do this now.

Managed to get a few shots here. Afellow pulled up next to me and got out his camera but just mised the flames and just got some smoke.Keep missing nice images as you can't pull up' The road works are bloody rediculous. They go on and on. Stupid way to upgrade the road.

Better a full bottle in front of me
    than a full frontal lobotomy.

    G'day Hans

I'm presuming that you're somewhere between Ayr and Innisfail ......... as many of those canefields will burn the stubble
cc- Being a pano lover - I reckon the following crop would make it look more spunky

Good work on capturing the smoke and flames Hans. I agree that cropping out a lot of the foreground would improve it.

The beauty of zoom lenses has me the proud owner of several other images that look like the crop. Will bring one here later.

As seen at the time with a different F length.

I was surprised on looking at this picture as to the number of birds making the most of the clearing..a crop of the above image.

              G'day Hans

Yep - the Red Kite is a well known scavenger looking for live but fragile small stuff - like mice and frogs - and they are often seen as above
They float around above fires and rubbish heaps and drop like a stone onto anything small that is still moving
