  • Worried? Us?

I like the compression of distance in this one. It was taken at 140mm on an APS-C so approx 210mm FF. The waves were a lot further away than they look.

    G'day mate

Yes - I also like the compression of distance via the long lens
The group of birds are very comfortable and relaxed, knowing that they're safe from both the waves 'over there' and people 'over here'
ps- like the l-o-n-g- pano format ... it works well !

I like everything about this image K1W1, the birds, angry sea and the grey sky, 3 distinct layers. The only thing I could pick on is the (slightly) out of focus gull at the bottom right of the image.
Just out of interest what aperture did you use for this image?

From memory it would have been about 25 metres from the birds to the waves.
I tried various things with the foreground bird, cropping the image above that bird, cloning it out, etc but in the end I like it best with the bird still there.
      Working...
