Better a full bottle in front of me
    than a full frontal lobotomy.

Fabulous colours and great layering Hans. Easy fix to remove the blown out highlights in #1 with aluminosity mask on a solid colour layer. Go on, give it a go

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Just to see I didn't mind the bright bit. Used the no1 light mask

But I thought it was simpler to just paint it in off a masked coloured layer without disturbing the rest.

If you used Lights (5) with a Selective Color adjustment layer, slide the yellow to about 30-40% - does it nicely.

There are probably lots of ways to do this. I had a problem the other day with a portrait that was lit with a blue and green light from different directions. I gave up and colored it in from B&W. Made a few errors but finished up good enough Would do it again if it was to be used for something.

Do you mean you converted to BW and then colourised it?
Do you want to post it up, before and after? We are all here to learn!
