  • Aussie bush ~ the Savannah grasslands areas

    G'day all

Across northern Oz there are large swathes of country loosely called 'Savannah' ie- grassy plains in tropical and subtropical regions, with few large trees growing there. Such areas generally have poor soils and are left to cattle grazing with a ratio of 1-beast to up to 100 acres / 40 hectares. We recently camped a while in such an area, and I thought that some here might like to get the feel of some Aussie back-country

1)- open grasslands, easy to become lost should you lose sense of direction

2)- sparse trees, plenty of grassland

    As always, feedback welcome
    Phil

Nice wide shots Phil. Typical bush here in Oz and colours too. Not unlike the scrub around our lake actually.

thanks Phil very familiar even in the NSW hunter valley. Lived in a sclerophyll forest for about 30 years.
