Better a full bottle in front of me
    than a full frontal lobotomy.

Very nice Hans. I like the warm toned foreground contrasting with the cool tones of the hills and clouds.

Have not warmed to it myself yet. A bit different.

    G'day Hans

    +1 to Alan's thoughts re-colours .... and may I add
I find the top left bright cloud to draw my eyes too far from the main scene. By (me) playing with the scroll bar to 'crop' the top half of sky, now putting the horizon in the middle of the frame, the dark clouds now become stronger and colour balance the crop below the horizon. Now the dark hills become a beaut separator between the two colour elements

      Hi Phil
Yes that improves it but I have decided it is too artificial looking and it won't go into my "Hall of Fame".

Aside from Phil's cropping ideas I think the whole image is spectacular. Those contrasing colours, layers, lovely and varying tones and shades and the drama in what's approaching, all goes to make a great shot. #2 is great as well with those bright sunlit parts adding to the look. You really should consider doing some vertical panorama shots and use Microsoft I.C.E. (free software) to stitch them. It's not available anymore but I have a copy if you want it. Out of your back door is it?

No I actually had a quick drive to the other side of town and saw this a deserted brickworks where I bought the bricks for the house I built before this one.

To fit more in the image and really give it some scale. Panos are really cool especialy vertical with 4 or more shots.

It showed Hans and it's a cracker. Just needs a shadows bump? The foreground is great but hidden by darkness.
