  • Kianga Cattle Station

    G'day all

1)- Spotted this sign and letter box while on a country road - and thought you might like to pay them a visit

2)- the entranceway up to the station

fwiw- dr google tells me that this cattle station is about 27,000 acres / 11,000 hectares spread over 42,5 square miles of paddocks. Stocking capacity is around 25,000 beasts, and the farm is an 'average sized' family run business for this area of Queensland

    As always, feedback welcome
    Phil

Looks very healthy with lots of feed. Not like where I was in SA. I remember 7 years ago we were on the side of the road looking at a snake and someone pulled up and had a chat and told us about the snake. We pulled up again hours later to make a cuppa and he stopped again while we were drinking it. It turned out we had been travelling through his station all that time We were not traveling slowly at the time. I forget the name of it but it was in the top 10 size wise. Hope they dont have a mouse plague.

      G'day Hans
Sounds a great story for the grandkids sometime ..... also sounds like you were in one of the Kidman cattle empire 'backyards'
