  • Low tide at the Lake

Hopefully winter rains will top up the lake. The ducks favourite log is now on the beach!

All of the lakes near me are now full, which is just as well as we are now at the end of our wet season. We sometimes get good rain in May, but then none until October/November.

I hope it is topped up for you (and the birds) soon.

Your lake level certainly fluctuates Isac, probably the reason you have such a diverse range of bird life. The level of my local lake does not change very much and I've never seen it dry. You would think that this would lead to a great variety of bird life, but the opposite appears to be true.

Pelicans are great subjects for togs Phil, so are gulls - especially for BIF shots.

There is a fair bit of construction going on in the area, but not exactly encroaching on the lake.

It may be part of the problem. Another issue may be pollution which can be an underlying factor. Ducks (as you and I do) like clean water.
