  • Missed first time around.

It's often surprising when you go back a year or so that you find pictires you realy like but had dismissed them at the time. Such is not the case here but I did run accross something recently and I felt the need to pass it on.

Did I leave this too dark? It was a very dull afternoon with lots of rain. I was in the area a few days and had it brightened up I would have taken the trouble to return.

Better a full bottle in front of me
    than a full frontal lobotomy.

You've captured the dingy day well Hans. The gloomy look is perfect for showing the weather as it was. The pictures feel real so no PP needed. I like the small spots of sunshine popping through in #1. From the pond to the misty mountains is really effective. The only change I would make is to put the cow in #2 right on the ROT lines lower and left junctions.

I remember a story where a long time in the future your mental image was kept in a computer where you lived in a virtual world. If you managed to reach a certain high level of maturity and education you were rewarded with a real body. In retrospect I'm not sure if that would seem a reward. Maybe that's the gout speaking.

It's the gout for sure! - or maybe not!

As I recall that virtual world had a lot to commend it where you could experience any number of experiences including driving a formula one car or skiing. Let your mind go wild. What a life. Orgasms anyone?

      G'day Hans

Full marks for posting "dull and dreary" weather pics ........... I also have plenty of them and they stay in the discard pile
However your images show me that I 'should' extract-the-digit and review them, as the above images are wonderful with the story that they tell

A 'good on ya mate' from me

A good collection here Hans; you have done well with the dull weather. Some comments:

#1. I like the composition from the lighter clump of grass at lower right, along the slope of hill to the brighter light on the distant buildings and fence then the contrasting angle of the background hills.

#2. I like the minimalist look of this but agree with Isac on cropping this one. I really like the revised crop - so simple and effective.

#3. This may be a little dark, but you wouldn’t want to brighten it much. If you feel it represents the mood of the day, I would go with your decision.

        B. Ok shot but It doesn’t stand out to me.

        C. I like the positioning of the plant, the contrast of the green and orange, and the diagonal lines formed by the cracks. Well done.

        D. Another good shot with the road leading towards the cloud-shrouded hills. I would suggest looking at cropping most of the wider part of the road from the bottom.
