Unfortunately, like Isac, my early rising days are over. However if I could be guaranteed images of this quality I could be tempted, but someone would have to make breakfast for me.

Thanks John. It was taken at 6:15am Qld time, about 20 minutes after sunrise. No guarantees but the odds are good, particularly if you can just step outside and find worthwhile subjects. Forget breakfast, you can eat anytime

Definitely one for the lounge room wall - or the local cafe wall - or a corporate office wall or .......

You say that it has had a touch of lift in post ... all okay there -but- would you also like to lift the tree leaves a bit brighter / oranger a tad to make it more sunrise like?

Thanks for your kind comments Phil. It was a global lift for shadows, but mostly affected foreground. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have a look at doing more to the leaves.

This is a wonderful image Alan. It's got all the right elements which highlight the beauty of our bush, of which there is no equal anywhere in the world.
I have a favour to ask. Your image is perfect for using luminosity masks with curves adjustments to bring up the shadows to make it pop. I have a Photoshop action HERE (Item 18) that creates 15 masks (5 x Light, 5 x Dark, 5 x Mid-tones) and for the odd occasion 2 each of light and dark mid-tones. The action set comes with a very handy Dodge & Burn adjustment layer as well. I would love to do a quick tutorial (using your photo) to show how luminosity masks can really make an image pop, if that's OK? The reason I picked Alan's image was he said he lifted the shadows globally so I imagined the original would have been a lot darker. I'll get a tut done when I can and post it in Photoshop.
