  • Birding places near me

After seeing photos of Isac's lake, I thought I'd show a couple of the places I go to. These are just from a quick scan through old shots. These sites are all within a twenty minute drive of home.

    1. Tygum Park has a roughly round lake with many people walking and exercising so the birds are somewhat accustomed to people. I don't have any shots showing the whole area.

    2. Eagleby Wetlands has several lakes and large areas of grass and trees. These are from the main (short) boardwalk a few years ago. Because it was dry for quite a while, the water in this lake is rather choked with plants at the moment, so not nearly as attractive.

Yes, that's a photographer in this one.

    3. Underwood Park. I don't have a wider shot.

    4. Riverdale Park. I don't go here often as it is quite small with limited birds, apart from the more common ducks.

Yes John, it's a very nice place, but they are all good in different ways.

There is something about water that makes you feel good. They look like pleasant places for a walk and take an occasional winner.

Definitely pleasant walks Hans, and always hoping for a winner.

Thanks for sharing Alan. They all look like great lakes to visit with the camera. They look a lot bigger than my 2 small lakes.

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.
